We set up our school in 1977 with definite aims and objectives to provide varied opportunities so that the young saplings may blossom fully in a cheerful, graceful and free atmosphere. We are situated at Ahmedabad - Gujarat.
The school is co-educational and the medium of instruction is English. We maintain a very high standard of discipline and quality education, not to forget the concentration on the physical, mental and moral development of its students
We believe a child’s first school experience is very important in laying the foundation for a lifetime learning. We aim to introduce the 'guru-shishya' attitude between teachers and children which would enhance every child's learning experiences.
We provide clean drinking water through Aquaguard. Our snacks are designed to cater to the nutrition needs of the body. They are nutritionally balanced and hygienically prepared. Exercises are a part of day to day activites. Medical check ups are also conducted occasionally.
Students learn through hands-on experience, investigation and research. They become actively engaged in their studies, rather than passively waiting to be spoon fed. They develop self–discipline and an internal sense of purpose and motivation. Our curriculum is carefully structured and integrated to demonstrate the connections among the different subject areas. Every class teaches critical thinking, composition and research. History lessons link architecture, the arts and science.
At Mother’s Pet, we recognize that positive discipline teaches and encourages a healthy development of a child’s self-esteem. Our policy does not permit the use of corporal, physical punishment by teachers. Instead, we employ positive disciplinary techniques which include appreciation and calling attention to appropriate behavior. We promote good role models in order to influence and reinforce a child positively. We set limits that are developmentally appropriate and consistently enforced.
Students learn to collaborate and work together in learning on major projects. They strive for their personal best, rather than compete for the highest grade in their class. Our whole focus is on respect and partnership – on creating environment in which children learn naturally, learn harmony with one other, and where they want to go to school.
Learning is made enjoyable by Playway Method. By organizing make-believe set up, where children play a role-say a Banker, a Consumer, a Doctor-, we make them aware about numbers, body, language etc. Here again, participatory learning takes place along with the understanding of the fundamentals. The learning becomes faster, easier. And there is joy of learning!
The primary goal of our programme is to help each child reach his/her full potential in all areas of life. This includes activities that promote the development of social skills, emotional growth, physical co-ordination, and cognitive preparation. The holistic curriculum allows the child to experience the joy of learning, and enjoy the process. It provides the experiences from which children create their knowledge, and the skills to ensure better self-esteem.
Confidence is the key to success. How to instill confidence in a child or a person? At Mother’s Pet, a number of activities are organized to boost self - confidence. For example, children take part in Fancy Dress programme where they ‘act’ ; they participate in dances specially designed for them; “Story Telling” during the class hours is a regular feature. Getting rid of fear psychosis under peer pressure is the key to a child’s positive personality.
We believe that music must form a part of our daily life. Nursery rhymes, actions songs, folk songs of different languages are a part of our curriculum. Our children love it. One has to see them singing and participating in action songs to understand their joy. Such experiences will make them happy, which in turn brings happiness to their family.
Life is a big celebration. Amidst the routine of freedom and discipline, we celebrate! Not only religious festivals, but kite flying and holi too are celebrated. Here children, through participation, learn about culture and history. They learn to share the experiences and again come to know about life and its various facts through fun, play and participation.
